Valspar Trade Delivers Colour Workshop and £500 Donation to Riverside College

As part of its 2024/25 College Tour, Valspar Trade recently visited Riverside College Widnes & Runcorn to deliver its award-winning Colour Workshop to NVQ painting and decorating students.

The interactive workshop, led by Terry Maguire, Trade Sales Specialist (TSS) for the region, and Mark Dunford, Territory Sales Consultant (TSC), provided students with valuable insights into the power of colour in design and practical tips for their future careers.

During the visit, Valspar Trade also presented the college with a generous £500 donation. The funds will be used to redecorate an inclusion room, a space designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.

Speaking about the partnership, Adam Johnson, Lecturer at Riverside College, said: “We were delighted to welcome Valspar Trade to our college, with the colour workshop linking directly to both the theory and practical elements of the course. We like to get guest speakers in throughout the year, it helps to make the learning experience more realistic and allows the students to get additional insight into their prospective industry. It’s been a brilliant day and has given the students something really valuable to take away, both in terms of learning more about colour and the Valspar Trade brand.

“We’re also so thankful for their generous donation. We plan to use the funds to create a calming and safe break-out space for all students to benefit from, where they can go and speak to college councillors and senior members of staff if additional support is needed.”
