Sporting success for Tara, as she receives two awards in the one night.
Tara Stanley attended both the Young Womens Network Awards and the Halton Sports Partnership Awards on the same evening and managed to scoop awards at both.
England student Rugby League Player and Cronton Sixth Form Sports student Tara Stanley who plays Rugby for Chorley and has represented England in the 2011 international games against France, Germany and the Combined Services capped off a great sporting year when she was invited to both ceremonies on the same evening.
Tara was first awarded Young Female Sports Person of the year at the Halton Girls and Young Women Network Awards Ceremony at the CRMZ. After receiving this award, Tara had to then hot foot it across to the Stobart Stadium where she was rewarded with Halton Sports Partnership ‘Young Sports Person of the Year highly commended’ Award.
Ben Barton, Head of Sporting Excellence at Cronton Sixth Form College said, “This is another great achievement for Tara and reflects the effort and positivity she puts into everything she does in and out of college. Tara has some great opportunities ahead of her this year, both on the field and in the studies, and this is another positive step towards achieving these.’
Tara said, “Studying at the Centre of Sporting Excellence is a great opportunity for me to progress my playing career. The College have been very supportive and I am looking forward to this next year when I will get even more individual training as it is my ambition to progress into the full female team”.
