Students and teachers at Riverside College are celebrating after receiving a Silver TEF award for their Higher Education provision
Riverside College is delighted to have been awarded a prestigious TEF Silver Award for “excellent outcomes” for students on its Higher Education courses.
The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) is a national government measure of the quality of teaching and performance of the higher education sector in the UK.
Riverside College’s Higher Education provision was rated for its high levels of full-time student satisfaction rates. In addition, the review panel commented on the “exceptionally high” satisfaction rates for assessment and feedback and academic support on part-time programmes.
Special recognition was given to the professional backgrounds of staff and the College’s “institution-wide approach to supporting widening participation students to ensure they continue in their studies”.
The TEF Review Panel was also impressed with how well the IDEA Centre at Cronton Campus has placed a strong and highly valued focus on employment work environments.
Helen London, Head of Higher Education and Teacher Development, said, “Gaining the TEF Silver Award is a fantastic achievement. It is testament to the commitment and hard work of our Higher Education teachers and students as well as all staff who support our students throughout their course.
“At Riverside College we have a culture of continually seeking to grow and enhance the quality of our Higher Education provision. We are committed to widening participation and supporting all of our students to succeed.
“There are so many reasons to choose Riverside College for Higher Education. We offer excellent value for money, smaller class sizes than at University and unique individual support.”
