Motor Vehicle
The Motor Vehicle industry is ever changing through technology and development. Here at Riverside College, we provide the opportunity to train in our modern, spacious and well equipped workshops with the latest diagnostic equipment alongside staff that have a wealth of Motor Industry experience. You will train as a Vehicle Technician, learning all of the skills that you will need to work in this fast-moving industry, along with work placement opportunities and numerous trips and visits.

Here at Riverside College we work closely with global engineering companies to provide an unparalleled learning experience. We provide the opportunity to train using industry standard technology; including virtual reality welding sets, CNC machines and 3D printing suites. With our fantastic industry links we can offer visits and tours to many national engineering companies. We also offer many work placements and a multitude of apprenticeship pathways.

Entry Requirements
Level 3
Completion of an appropriate Level 2 qualification in Engineering / Motor Vehicle
Level 2
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades 9 – 3 including English Language and Maths or Level 1 Engineering.
Level 1
A minimum of four 9-2 GCSE subject grades, including Maths and English Language
What could these courses lead on to?
At Riverside College you can progress through the levels from entry level to level 3 and beyond with our HNC in Engineering. By achieving qualifications in Engineering and Motor Vehicle you will be able to access a wide range of employment opportunities and apprenticeships with local, national and global employers.
The Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering is ideal for students wishing to progress to university to study foundation degrees, BEng or BSc degrees. The one year Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technology is designed to prepare students for progression into an apprenticeship or further industry qualifications at a higher level.
The level 3 Motor Vehicle Diploma also prepares students for degrees in motor related subjects, higher apprenticeships or employment in a motor vehicle technician role.
