Catering and Hospitality
At the Centre of Excellence in Catering and Hospitality students benefit from training with Michelin Star Chefs, extensive opportunities for work experience and our brand new state of the art kitchens and restaurant. Students will develop high level skills which will enable them to pursue careers in the rapidly growing catering and hospitality industry. Our state of the art production kitchens and restaurant provide students with the opportunity to run their own restaurant and showcase their skills to the public.
Computing and Digital Technologies
Computing and Digital Technologies are exciting, dynamic and fast moving subjects and our courses are designed to equip you to work in a growing industry with many varied employment opportunities. Not only do jobs in IT offer great job satisfaction, the skill demand means that good starting salaries are paid especially if you specialise in an area such as programming. We are recognised as a CISCO, Adobe and Microsoft Academy and boast industry qualified staff who have worked in a wide variety of areas and also have their own areas of specialisation.
Construction, Plumbing and Electrical Services
Students studying Construction, Plumbing, and Building Services at Riverside College will benefit from the exceptional workshops in the £3.6 million Construction Centre. We offer training in a wide range of trades including plumbing, carpentry and joinery, brickwork, painting and decorating, and construction management. In Halton and the surrounding areas, there are big plans for large construction projects which will create a wide range of jobs within the industry.
Early Years and Education
The Early Years and Education department at Riverside College offers students exciting and innovative courses which will enable students to gain the nationally recognised qualifications which are essential to succeed in this industry. Students will study a wide range of subjects including practical care skills, observational skills, curriculum planning and safeguarding, allowing them to progress in a variety of careers in the Early Years sector.
Engineering and Motor Vehicle
The Engineering and Motor Vehicle department offers an excellent blend of industry standard provision, to equip our learners to develop their career in each chosen discipline. Programmes of study are delivered in our new purpose built workshops and teaching areas. Our workshops have been developed in partnership with local and national industries and are fully equipped and boast the very best in advanced technologies. All of our students gain a high standard of skills and are able to progress to the workplace after gaining their nationally recognised trade qualifications.
Hair, Beauty, Nails and Media Makeup
At the Centre of Excellence for Hair, Beauty, Nails and Media Makeup we have recently refurbished contemporary facilities, including hairdressing salons, beauty treatment rooms, brand new nail bars and a state of the art media make up studio. This fantastic setting provides students with the opportunity to run their own salons and showcase their skills to the public. Our extensive links with prestigious employers provide students with employment opportunities, work placements and training on the latest techniques and products.
Health, Social Care and Nursing
The exciting and innovative courses in Health, Social Care and Nursing at Riverside College provide students with invaluable experience in a variety of different healthcare settings allowing them to develop professional skills to a high standard. An integral part of the courses is the completion of a range of placements which offer the opportunity for the student to develop vital practical skills and relate theory to practice.
