Talented Decorating Apprentice Crowned Paperhanger of the Year 2022!

Congratulations to talented Riverside College Painting and Decorating Apprentice Jade Oakes, who has achieved 1st place in the Painting and Decorating Association Apprentice Paperhanger of the Year 2022!

Jade said, “Winning this award was incredible, it felt uplifting to have my tutors by my side, as they have worked tirelessly to help support and encourage me every step of the way.”

Painting and Decorating Tutors John Rowlands and Adam Johnson said, “Jade is a naturally gifted decorator who has successfully earned the right to compete in several trade competitions in her first full year at Riverside College. As tutors, we are immensely proud of her achievements so far. We wish Jade the best of luck when she competes in the WorldSkills national final held at Edinburgh College next week.”

Jade also attended the Painting and Decorating Association Apprentice of the Year 2022 in London, where she received second place, and she is now looking forward to attending the World Skills Uk Finals in Edinburgh next week with the potential of reaching the World Skills Euro Finals.
