What is this course about?
This level 2 qualification has been specifically designed to develop practical skills in promoting relaxation and wellbeing whilst helping to reduce stress by the use of complementary massage techniques.

Entry Requirements:
Working at Level 1 in English on our college assessment or minimum GCSE grade D/3 or equivalent Level 1 English qualification (including reading and writing).
What will I learn on this course?
This course includes:
- Client consultation
- Health and safety
- Anatomy of the head and scalp
- Therapeutic massage techniques using oils and conditioners
- You will also complete an Award in Infection Prevention (Covid 19) with a online assessment
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout your course by practical observation and your theoretical understanding will be assessed through the completion of an assignment. You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence which includes client case studies.
*Please note: You may be required to attend an assessment day/evening if you are selected by the awarding body, external verifier – failure to attend could lead to your certificate being withheld until you are seen be the external verifier

Are there any other costs associated with this course?
You will have the option to purchase a tunic (approximately £25.00 plus postage and packing, costs are subject to change. You must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files etc. for your course work and photographic evidence may be required for practical assessments.
What will this course lead on to?
On achievement of the head massage qualification, it can be used in salons, and clinics. wellbeing community settings or as part of a self-employed business. On successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress onto further full time or part time courses in hairdressing, beauty, nail services or makeup which the college offers.
