During this the 2 years you are on the course, you will study a wide range of subjects including:

During this course you will study in college three days a week and attend an industry placement for the other two, which will be supported by our dedicated industry placement team.
Industry placements are intended to provide you with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for skilled employment in the workforce.
Enrichment Opportunities:
You will have the opportunity to visit universities to experience student life in taster days/weeks. Additionally, you will be able to access a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Course. There are also virtual babies that students may be able to take home to look after (with parent/carer written permission).
How will I be Assessed?
You will achieve the qualification by completing a range of externally assessed methods; to include the Employer Set Project and 2 written examinations in year 1 and in year 2 you will complete 2 synoptic assignments and structured observations in the industry placement.
In addition, you will be expected to complete class tass, assignments and homework.
Throughout the course, students are helped and supported to track their own progress, complete coursework to deadlines, and try to exceed their minimum target grade at all times.
Are there any costs associated with the course?
You will need to purchase a T-Shirt to wear in College and placement (Polo T Shirt = £7.86, you can also purchase a hoodie = £15.54 hoodie and £17.94 zipped (subject to change) Students will also be expected to organise a DBS to enable them to attend placement. There is no cost for full time school leavers on this course.
Entry Requirements: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9 – 4 including a grade 4 in English Language, Maths, and 4:4 in Science. Students must also have a clear DBS.
Students who achieve this qualification could progress to the following: employment, higher education and apprenticeship.
