What is this course about?
This programme is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to learn the essential beauty therapy treatments. You will work in our college beauty salons developing your skills in makeup, skincare, nails services and nail art. You will also take part in photo shoot to enable you to showcase your skill.

Entry Requirements
Working Entry Level 3 in English on our college assessment or a minimum GCSE E/2 or Entry Level 3 English qualification (including reading and writing) . Hairdressing is a personal service; people skills are also important.
What will this course lead on to?
Progression onto the stage two beauty programme, studied on a part time evening basis or a full-time level 2 beauty programme. You may wish to seek employment in a beauty salon or self-employment.
What will I learn on this course?
Provide manicure and pedicure treatments, application of a variety of makeup techniques, skin care and facial treatments, nail art techniques are all included in this qualification. You will also get the opportunity to develop your full range of skills by creating a beauty and hair image using colour. There will be opportunities to progress your skills in elements of waxing and lash and brow treatments.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by ongoing assessments throughout the programme, tests may be required to complete units and check knowledge, also you will have to complete projects and produce a portfolio of your work.
Course fee: £380 (TBC)
You will be required to purchase a professional beauty kit £62.00 and tunic £25.00 (subject to change for 2024) You must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files. for your course work. Full details will be provided on enrolment to the course.

Facilities:
At the Centre of Excellence for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy we have recently refurbished contemporary facilities, including three hairdressing salons, two beauty salons, two media make up studios and a nail salon. This provides students with the opportunity to run their own salon columns, to prepare for industry work.
