Course Overview:
Research has shown that the number of children and young people in the UK who have an EHC Plan is more than 517,000 in 2022/23, this is an increase of 9% compared to 2021/22. The number of EHC Plan requests has increased by 23% since 2021 resulting in a higher demand of Special Education Needs (SEN) support within the school environment.
This course will equip learners with a detailed understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including equality and diversity in the context of SEND and legislation and guidance that helps promote this. Learners will also look at how a person centred approach can benefit individuals living with SEND, how SEND conditions can affect learning and how to support those living with SEND and their families.
