Introduction to Beauty Techniques

Course Overview/What is this course about?
This programme is designed to introduce you to the essential skills and knowledge required to carry out basic salon beauty treatments. You will work in our college beauty salons developing your skills in makeup, skincare, and nail services.

Entry Requirements:
A good standard of English is required. You may be required to complete a short English assessment or have a GCSE English at grade 2 or above.
Beauty therapy is a personal service; people skills are also important

What will I learn on this course?
This course includes the skills and knowledge of:
• Basic Manicure Treatments
• Skincare treatments
• Makeup application
• Knowledge of the beauty industry and career pathways

How will I learn and be assessed?
You will be assessed by ongoing assessments throughout the programme, tests may be required to complete units and check knowledge, also you will have to complete projects and produce a portfolio of your work

Progression Opportunities/What can this course lead on to?
Progression onto a full-time level 2 beauty programme, or you may wish to specialise in a beauty pathway such as a nail services or makeup course studied on a part time basis.

Course fee: £250*

Many of our courses can be studied for free, even if you are employed or self-employed, depending on your individual circumstances and the course you have chosen to study. You will be required to purchase a professional beauty kit £62.00 and tunic £25.00 (approximate costs). You must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files. for your course work. Full details will be provided on enrolment to the course.
