What is this course about?
This qualification gives you the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately. This qualification is useful for anyone who uses (or would like to use) counselling skills at work or in a personal capacity.

How will I be assessed?
You are required to create a portfolio of evidence that shows that you’ve met the standards associated with each unit.
What will this course lead on to?
Successful completion of this Level 2 Award will make you eligible for progression to the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills. At Riverside College, we also offer a Foundation Degree and top-up degree in Counselling and Counselling Children and Young People.
What are the Entry Requirements?
GCSE grade D/3 or Level 1 English qualification.
As an alternative, you can take an English assessment in college after you have applied. You must achieve a Level 1 or above in this assessment.

Course Cost:
This course is free for individuals who live in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral) LCR or £250* for students outside this area. (TBC)
