Level: Entry – Level 2 | Duration: 1 Year | Start Date: January and September
Details: Various day and evening options. Lessons are once per week and are 2.5 hours long. You will also have access to weekly conversation clubs (2 hours) and study hubs (2 hours).
You will need to bring your passport or identity card to assess your eligibility for funding.
What is this course about?
This course is about developing speaking, listening, reading & writing skills in English for people whose first language is not English.
What will I learn on this course?
You will learn practical communication skills in English as well as improving vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation skills covering a wide range of topic areas.

How will I be assessed?
All students will be expected to take an Edexcel ESOL exam when ready. There are three assessments: Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. You can take one, or all three depending on your ability.
What are the Entry Requirements?
An initial interview and assessment to assess speaking, listening, reading & writing skills.
What will this course lead on to?
Students can progress from Entry level 1 through to Level 2 over time.
Are there any course costs?
The course is free if you have lived in the UK for 3 years or have an appropriate visa. You will need to meet a set of guidelines for the course to be free, if you do not meet the guidelines then a fee will apply – please enquire.
We do recommend that you buy a copy of the Functional Skills workbook at the appropriate level.
