What is this course about?
This programme is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to learn the essential beauty therapy treatments. You will work in our college beauty salons developing your skills in makeup, skincare, nails services and nail art. You will also take part in photo shoot to enable you to showcase your skill. Classes will consist of both 16-18 and adult students.

Entry Requirements:
Working at Entry Level 3 in English on our college assessment or a minimum GCSE grade E/2 or Entry 3 qualification in English (including reading and writing) . You will also have a college admissions interview. Beauty is a personal service; people skills and personal presentation are also important.
What will this course lead on to?
Progression onto a level 2 qualification in beauty or you may wish to seek employment in a beauty salon or self-employment.
What will I learn on this course?
Introduction to the hair and beauty sector, presenting a professional image in a salon, create an image using colour for the beauty sector, skin care, applying basic make up, themed face painting. Provide nail art services, providing manicure treatments, providing pedicure treatments, create a hair and beauty image and follow health and safety in the salon.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by ongoing assessments throughout the programme, tests may be required to complete units and check knowledge, also you will have to complete projects and produce a portfolio of your work.

Are there any costs relating to this course?
Kit £62.00 Tunic £25.00 (TBC) you must also wear full length black trousers and a full black shoe. You will have to provide files and a text book etc. for your course work and photographic evidence is required for practical assessments.
Facilities:
At the Centre of Excellence for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy we have recently refurbished contemporary facilities, including three hairdressing salons, three beauty salons, two media make up studios and a nail salon. This provides students with the opportunity to run their own salons and showcase their skills to the public.
