Apprentice returns to school for new challenge
James Blackburn who attended The Grange School Runcorn before completing a BTEC Extended Diploma in Photography at Cronton Sixth Form has now returned to his previous high school as an IT Apprentice with Riverside College.
James started his apprenticeship late last year along with Calvin Tague and April Boulton who are all now supporting the IT department at The Grange School in their brand new premises.
James said, “I chose to do an apprenticeship because I wanted to start working straight after college but liked the idea that I could carry on with my qualifications. My ultimate career goal is to work in IT and graphic design and this job offers me the experience to do that. I love the fact I get to do something different and new every day.”
Chris Buckley from The Grange School said, “I am really pleased with all three of the new apprentices. They have proven to be a great asset to the school and it is nice that James used to attend The Grange School. They have all developed their skills during their short time here. It’s great that the school is able to continue to offer apprenticeships and support the training of young people after they leave full time education.”
