Programme Area Leader Computing, HND Computing and BSc (Hons) Computer Science Tutor
I joined Riverside College in 2010 as a Lecturer in IT, teaching on a range of different courses encompassing the whole industry. In 2013 I began teaching on HND Computing and Systems Development and then went onto launch and lecture on HND Computing in 2017. Since 2020 I have been a lecturer on BSc (Hons) Computer Science Top-Up. In 2015, I became the Programme Area Leader for Computing and IT.
I currently teach on HND Computing where I deliver units on Computer Game Engines which involves learning about different game engines including Unity and developing understanding of C# programming. I also teach a unit on Game Design Theory which considers impact of computer games, design theory and ethical issues in games development.
I also lecture on the Final Year Project on BSc (Hons) Computer Science Top-Up, teaching students to develop their application of project management, academic research skills and supporting in the development of their projects.
External Experience
I am Standards Verifier for Pearson programmes which involves verifying centre assessment decisions through scrutiny of assignments and samples of learner work.
Prior to my role at the college, I completed my degree in BSc Secondary IT while creating interactive websites and developing digital marketing strategies for local businesses.

I have particular interests in games development and the wider impact of computer games. I also have interests in development Agile project methodologies.
