What is this course about?
This course meets the needs of learners who want to work as supervisors in front of house within a hospitality environment. You will gain valuable hands-on experience supervising other learners in our busy college restaurant, Scholars.
Theory assignments will give you the underpinning knowledge to assist your understanding of the topics within practical areas, and reflective logs are used to build understanding, confidence and self-analyse your skill development.

Entry Requirements:
You will require a Level 2 Diploma in Professional Food & Beverage Services and a grade 4 in English Language and Maths.
What will this course lead on to?
You will have the opportunity to progress to university on courses such as event management or you may decide to progress into a wide choice of employment within the hospitality industry.
What will I learn on this course?
This course will allow you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and career progression in the hospitality sector. The qualification covers all aspects of food and beverage service supervision including legislation, gueridon service, general supervision, mixology and promotions. You will develop the key skills required by industry to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will expect.
How will I be assessed?
During the programme you will be assessed by reflective logs, multiple choice questions and assignment work.

There will be a wide range of activities available for you to join, during your Food and Beverage programme, from driving theory, sport activities and a range of leisure.
Facilities:
You will learn in our Centre of Excellence in Catering and Hospitality and will work in a newly refurbished and very popular restaurant Scholars. All practical sessions will help give you the practical skills, confidence and the overview of what the catering and hospitality industry can offer.
Are there any costs associated with this course?
As part of your Catering and Hospitality programme you will purchase your uniform for the restaurant (approximately £95, there may be funding to help cover the costs, you can find out more information at your college interview and enrolment). Costs are subject to change.
