Award Winning Year for Engineering Apprentice
Sam Meacock, a talented Engineering Apprentice at Riverside College is celebrating after being crowned ‘Apprentice/Young Person of the Year’ at the Halton Business Awards.
Sam started at Riverside College on a Level 2 Engineering course and with the help of his tutors, he was able to gain an apprenticeship with Initial Packaging Solutions Ltd in Widnes. Over the past three years Sam has progressed, gaining his intermediate and advanced level engineering apprenticeships and is now a full time member of staff. He is their sole engineer and is running his own engineering department – an impressive achievement.
Sam was nominated for this award by his employer and his tutors at the College who were confident in his abilities. Subsequently he went on to win, highlighting the determination and commitment he has put in to his apprenticeship.
This caps off a successful year for Sam as he also has won Riverside College’s Engineering Apprentice of the Year Award after impressing his tutors throughout his time at the College.
