Talented Hair and Beauty Students Granted Riverside Scholarships
High achieving Hair and Beauty students studying at Riverside College have had a fantastic start to their College experience after being granted a scholarship with the College entitling them to hundreds of pounds’ worth of kit and uniform.

The outstanding students were selected to be a part of the scholarships programme after applying for the scheme before beginning College, then participating in a series of interviews which took place earlier in the year. The successful students this year are:

- Louise Brown – St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School

- Lauren Ebbrell – St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School
- Neave Gahan – St Chads Catholic High School

- Rebecca Kelly – Halewood Academy
- Ellie McGrady – Gateacre School
- Chloe Renshall – De La Salle
- Megan Berry – Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy
- Elle-Louise Moorhead – The Academy of St Nicholas
- Shannon Stewart – St Chads Catholic and Church of England High School
- Alfie Padmore – The Sutton Academy

Successful applicants were informed via a letter to their home address prior to beginning their studies, along with information regarding the free kit and uniform they received to support them on their course.
Louise Brown, formerly of St Edmund Arrowsmith and Media Makeup Scholar said “I am so proud to have been granted a scholarship in Media Makeup, especially because of the large number of applicants. The scholarship has given me a real feeling of confidence and the knowledge that my hard work is getting recognised and rewarded!”

Jade Aspinall Wood, formerly of the Sutton Academy and Hair and Media Makeup Scholar said “I was absolutely thrilled when I found out I had been selected as a Scholar for the College, my parents were so proud of me and what I had achieved. This will benefit me in so many ways in the future especially with my University applications when the time comes.”

Former Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy pupil and Nails Scholar Megan Berry said “To be granted a scholarship at the College is amazing, this accolade will make me stand out from other candidates when applying for jobs and overall make me much more employable.”
Lynn Rhodes, Head of Hair & Beauty and Hospitality at Riverside College said, “Congratulations to all of our scholarships for 2019, they are definitely well deserved. It is great to see the students putting the kits we provided for them to excellent use in their classes and we hope they can carry on performing to the high standards they have set. We look forward to meeting our future scholarship applicants at our upcoming Open Evening event on Wednesday 13th November.”
