Riverside Students Impress Guests at Dobbies Garden Centre
Students from Riverside College’s Centre of Excellence courses gained valuable work experience after taking part in the popular ‘Ladies Night’ charity event at Dobbies Garden Centre.
The event was organised to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, the Dobbies Christmas charity partner for 2018. Students from Riverside College were invited to take part in the spectacular event after they had previously impressed at similar Dobbies events that have taken place over the last few years.
Over 700 people were treated to drinks, canapés and pamper treatments at the fabulous event which also included live music, entertainment, cooking demonstrations and special offers.
Centre of Excellence for Hair, Beauty, Media Makeup and Nail students hosted a range of pamper sessions and treatments for guests including festive makeup ideas, facials, nail painting and polishing, mini manicures, hand massages and hair ups. Treatments were available for a £1 donation, with all funds raised going to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Students from the Centre of Excellence for Catering and Hospitality had the opportunity to impress as they greeted visitors with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival and handed out canapés throughout the evening.
Vita Salon Manager at Riverside College, Karen Gill, said “Our students thoroughly enjoyed the event and gained lots of professional work experience while working under pressure. We have had lots of great feedback from guests on the night who were impressed by the treatments our students provided, so much so that many have now booked in for appointments at the Riverside College Vita Salons. We are look forward to working with Dobbies again for future events.”
